Another of our shared interests is motorsport. we are fans of F1 & BTCC, but as time has gone on we have drifted towards endurance style races. We enjoy watching them throughout the season on television & when we can get the joint time off & our finances allow, we try to get to as many as we can.

As you can see we loved going to BTCC races & getting round the paddocks, but we had noticed that as time went on over a couple of years access to the garages, even for just a quick picture, has become impossible due to refusal by the teams or now burley security guards that keep you at arms length. It came to a head in 2012 when we went to the BTCC race at Silverstone, when it was our wedding anniversary weekend, with the way were treated within 4 hours by teams & the very heavy security employed by some including some "choice words" given to both my wife & I we went back home to Cheshire on the Saturday lunchtime!

For years, whilst we were still having withdrawal symptoms from not watching any racing, we used to go to the "AUTOSPORTS" events held in January at the N.E.C. in Birmingham. It gave us chance to see various cars, drivers & motorsport personalities. We have managed to get autographs from drivers like Johnny Herbert, Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Alan McNish, Anthony Davidson & David Brabham, together with personalities like Louise Goodman & Jake Humphery. There also is a charity auction where we have bid & won some great motorsport ''one off'' memorabilia.

With going to a lot of the endurance races we have grown to know the teams & drivers & keep in touch with a lot of them through the power of social media. We find it very easy, mainly on practice days, to get some of our photo shots from inside the garage & often share them with the teams to show how the drivers & support crew work together. Still a few teams to tick off our list of getting in, so if Audi or Toyota are listening..... :-).

Sarah is a huge fan of Alain Prost, from when he was a driver, & team owner & has manged to get in time a "Prost" cap signed by Jean Alesi & Luciano Burti, then a signed picture of the 1999 "Prost" car signed by Olivier Panis & Alain Prost.
