This page is dedicated to one of my other interests....... THE HUMBLE HEDGEHOG. |
I have liked hedgehogs for many years & I now have amassed a large collection of hogmobilia. If my husband Martyn can have large model boxes & models around the house I am sure that I can have my hogs dotted around the house. His hobby fills two rooms, not counting the dining room table, the ironing board or any flat surface he can find, so he cannot complain about me.
I have quite a few soft toy hedgehogs along with quite a collection of various ornaments (see the photo's of some of them I have collected).

I am a huge fan of the "Country Companion" characters found on cards, calendars, etc especially "Edward" & "Edwina" hedgehog. My friends & family know that they cannot go wrong by getting me a greeting card with these hogs on. I am also a great fan of Beatrix Potter's "Mrs Tiggywinkle". Martyn has started to buy me every so often, when he is feeling soppy, some of the "Hedgies" hedgehog range. Please see the photo below of the family "so far".
On the serious side of things I am a supporter of hedgehog hospitals, especially "ST Tiggywinkles" run by Les & Sue Stoker, who I met a few years ago when they did a talk at "Hanley Museum". I also support "Prickly Ball Farm" in Devon. I am hoping to travel down this year to see the hogs after hibernation as this year, when we were down south we could not go due to problems at the time in the area.
